
At Essential Health Speech Therapy Clinic, we support children from 18 months to 18 years of age to develop their speech, communication, and social skills. We are dedicated in providing high quality services to our community. Our services include assessments and therapy interventions for a wide range of communication difficulties:

Initial Assessments:
Preschool Age Assessment: $400
Speech and Language Assessment (includes written report):(Assessment may take upto 1.5 hours)
This includes a formal standardised speech and language assessment for children 18 months to 5 years of age. For the language assessment we use the Preschool Language Scale – 5th Edition (PLS-5) or Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals – Preschool -2nd Edition (CELF-P2). For speech sound assessment, we use a picture naming test or the Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology – DEAP (if appropriate)and conversational observation of speech sounds. The assessment includes interpretation of results, a comprehensive report, recommendations, goal setting and planning for therapy.
School Age Assessment: $470
Speech, Language and Literacy Assessment
(Assessment may take up to 2 hours)
This includes a formal standardised speech, language, and literacy assessment for children 5 to 18 years of age. For the language assessment we use Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals – 5th Edition (CELF-5). For speech sound assessment, we use a picture naming test or the Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology – DEAP and conversational observation of the speech sounds. For the literacy assessment we use the York Assessment of Reading Comprehension (YARC) and Single Word Spelling Test (SWST). The assessment includes interpretation of results, a comprehensive report, recommendations, goal setting and planning for therapy.
Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)/Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)
For Medicare rebates a GP referral is required. The number of sessions your child can receive are up to 5 per calendar year. If your child is eligible, your GP will complete and lodge a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements (TCA) plan with Medicare. The current rebate is $54.95 per session.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible for a rebate, depending on your type of cover. This can be claimed in our office at the time of payment for your convenience. Please contact your health fund for more information.
